| This may be my best Tom Jenkinson tune. Beautiful repeating synth bass line throughout. Great building chopped amen, with a warping stretching hat and a pitching kick that fires into a giant rumbling. So gorgeous, so emotional, so Squarepusher.

| Released in 1996 after I Care Because You Do, this EP was a very limited 3000 copy release and has since been removed from the Warp Catalog. I love this beat and its ultra sharp hats that rise and fall. Butane Bob takes brief pause midway through to twist some beats, then immediately kicks right back into the classic Aphex Twin melodic synth arrangement. |

Like so many unknown future IDM stars EUs tracks have been making the rounds on the internet as mp3s for sometime. The label Pause 2 brings us this treat. Atmospherics lay across, stepping beats accented with a soft stereo fuzz distortion. That fuzz brings most of the IDM flavor to this tune. |

| Swiss producer Domenico Ferrari puts a new twist on jazzy drum and bass with this release. Jazz bass meets reversed 808 subs. Great clanging beats with a very nice snare touch. The snare delays, rolls, and pulls the track together. Very good tune. |

| More great stuff from the quality Asphodel imprint. The second album from WE evolves from Drum and Bass this time but doesn’t get confined to any predefined genre rules. Very interesting. Very good. I especially like the soft pads that come out midway through and the reverbed shots. Beats are good and hard. |

| Ahhh yes! What cool track! A completely unexpected release from the Ram camp or Andy C and Shimon. Bodyrock features a bouncing skipping variation on the classic drum and bass two step rhythm. Just as unusual is the winding bassline. Very unique. I hope other producers will take risks such as this. |
