1 :: Stereo Nova - 'Na Me Thymasa' from 'Vitamina Tek' 1997
Slow drag beat. Very nice soothing vocal on a simple, subtle and different track from the since disbanded Greece group Stereo Nova.

2 :: Digital Jockey - 'Sistersleep' from '8 Studies in Dub' (Pottheadz) 2000
Nice simple baseline, slooow 4/4s, Indian vocals. Intriguing and beautiful.

3 :: Sweetback - 'Gaze' from 'Sweetback' 1996
Producing and touring with Sade since the beginning of her career Sweetback is Stuart Matthewman, Andrew Hale and Paul Denman. They sidestep on this rather obscure solo debut, pushing their music to a more dub friendly side taking a break from the sound they have developed for Sade. Fantastic electronic RnB album. This tune is great. The vocals and dub flavor remind me of Smith and Mighty. Hopefully we can expect another album from them since they just finish Sade latest.

4 :: Fauna Flash feat. Sugar B - 'Mother Nature' from 'Fusion' (Compost) 2001
Bassline dub. Filtered keys. Yes Yes. I love see producers do many different style. Fauna Flash are best know for their Drum and Bass productions they move beyond that now. The Munich duo has released very little as Fauna Flash in the past 3 year, since they establish Truby Trio with Rainer Truby and Voom Voom with Peter Kruder. Fantastic producers are they. This album has Latin, Dub, House, Jazz, Hip Hop influences flowing throughout. Mother Nature is the standout with its filtered bassline and vocals provided by Austrian MC Sugar B.

5 :: The Nomad feat. Farda P - '141' from 'Second Selection' 2000
Former Drum and Bass producer Daimon Schwalger switches form on his second LP going the downtempo and dub route. This album is a standout, and 141 is my favorite from it. Guest MC Farda P is know best for his skill work in Rockers Hi Fi.

6 :: Cibo Matto - 'Clouds' from 'Stereo Type A' 1999
Cibo Matto! Cibo Matto! Miho and Yuka from Japan do whatever they want. Hip Hop, Rock, Soul, Jazz they twist it all into their brand of pop music. Clouds is one of my all time favorite Cibo Matto tunes. Floaty vocals on this sampler and keyboard tune. I love it.

7 :: Computer Jockeys feat. Tashiwei Kiku - 'It' from 'Plankton' 2001
If you cant tell from the bassline Digital Jockey along with Wolfgang Hagedorn are the Computer Jockeys. Establish in Cologne Germany the duo is strictly laptop base when producing and mixing live. Plankton they second full length is very very slick with there usual Japanese flavor, and feature some exceptional work from vocalist Ayako Akashiba of Omiya in Tokyo.

8 :: Black Dog feat. Bjork - 'Charlene'
Its Black Dog (2/3 of Plaid). Its Bjork. I not need say anything.
