| 1 :: Daniel Bedingfield
- 'Gotta Get Through This'
(dubplate)
2001 |
|
 |
| Raw dubplate pressure. ‘Gotta Get Through This’ is drum kit, keys on bass, and a passionate repeating hook. That’s it. Very bare. Very moving. Come out sometime this year on Relentless Records who paid a fortune for it. |

| 2 :: Selena vs X-Men
- 'Give It Up (Matt Lamont & DJ Face Remix)'
(Go Beat)
2001 |
|
 |
| Cute vocal, piano bring a slight latin feel but does not take far. Face and Lamont are two highlights in garage scene. DJ Face has his root way back before the Hardcore days, and produced the classic anthem 'Only For The Headstrong' as Psychotropic. Matt “Jam” Lammot was one half of the Speed Garage heavyweights Tuff Jam. Around that time is when Lamont and Face first began working together producing early Speed Garage before metamorphosis into current form. They getting most recognition from top ten banger ‘Why?’ which produced for Mis-Teeq and Face’s Frances James collaboration ‘Girls Play Too’.

| 3 :: Nesha (Produced by Sticky)
- 'What's It Gonna Be'
(Relentless)
2001 |
|
 |
| I do like full vocal tracks in UK Garage something I miss from most other styles, though I hope producers never stop chopping. Nice building bass. Great drum kit. Subtle horns fill in the back. I really like the extended vocal hook, the line “I wont wait… no” would normally be left out by most producer. This is a song. Very good production. 4 star.

| 4 :: Mis-Teeq
- 'That Type of Girl'
from 'Lickin on Both Sides'
2001 |
|
 |
| Calling the 3 member RnB group Mis-Teeq UKs Destiny’s Child would be an accurate description, if they didn’t drop massively well produced garage cuts like this one. Great voice on MC. There new full-length is a respectible collection of their Garage and mainstream R&B cuts, though it does not compare to Craig David.

| 5 :: Cleptomaniacs feat. Bryan Chambers
- 'All I Do (Bump & Flex Club Mix)'
(Defected)
2001 |
|
 |
| Nice. Nice. Nice. Love the vocals from Bryan Chambers and the chorus hook with piano backing is sexy emotion.

| 6 :: David Howard
- 'U & I'
(Locked On)
2001 |
|
 |
| Detailed snare and hat work on this one (for UK Garage style), with a pitching snare that rips the bar. Straight R&B vocals. Nice soft break down to march drums backing orchestral pads and smooth vocals. High Quality.

| 7 :: Mariah Carey
- 'Loverboy (MJ Cole Main Mix)'
from 'Glitter'
2001 |
|
 |
| MJ Cole does the high profile remix on Mariah Careys new album Glitter. Just release here in Japan. vocals. Mariah has a processed voice on all her albums, timestretching it to 130 make them surreal. Da Brat sounds good sped up.
